Let's Hike Mount Prau 🌄
One Tuesday afternoon, John (Ahmad Karjono) met Lisha (WilujEng lishAwati) in front of her house after school.
(Suatu sore di hari Selasa, John bertemu Lisha di depan rumah sepulang sekolah.)
“Lisha, let’s hike Mount Prau this weekend,” John said with a big smile.
Lisha looked surprised but excited. “This weekend? That sounds fun. Which route will we take?”
(Lisha tampak terkejut tapi senang. “Akhir pekan ini? Kedengarannya seru. Kita lewat jalur mana?”)
“We will hike via Dwarawati Basecamp,” John replied confidently.
pov: Lisha is hiking with her friends
“I’ve heard the view is beautiful there,” Lisha said. “What should I prepare?”
(“Aku dengar pemandangannya indah,” kata Lisha. “Apa saja yang harus aku siapkan?”)
John nodded and said, “Prepare your jacket and hiking shoes, and don’t forget your raincoat.”
(John mengangguk dan berkata, “Siapkan jaket dan sepatu gunungmu, dan jangan lupa jas hujan.”)
Lisha smiled, then said, “Okay, but I will ask my mom first.”
(Lisha tersenyum lalu berkata, “Oke, tapi aku akan minta izin ibu dulu.”)
“Sure,” John replied. “Let me know after you get her permission.”
(“Tentu,” jawab John. “Beri tahu aku setelah kamu dapat izin.”)
That night, Lisha talked to her mother in the living room.
“Mom, may I hike Mount Prau with John this weekend?” Lisha asked politely.
“Climbing a mountain is tiring. Are you sure you are strong enough?” her mother asked doubtfully.
(“Naik gunung itu kan melelahkan. Kamu yakin kamu kuat?” tanya Ibu dengan ragu.)
“I’m sure, Mom,” Lisha replied confidently. “I often practice morning runs with John and our friends.”
Her mother thought for a moment and said, “If you go, be careful and follow the rules.”
(Ibunya berpikir sejenak lalu berkata, “Kalau kamu pergi, berhati-hatilah dan patuhi aturan.”)
“Yes, Mom,” Lisha answered.
(“Iya, Bu,” jawab Lisha.)
Her mother added, “You still have a few days. Plan your preparation well.”
(Ibunya menambahkan, “Kamu masih punya beberapa hari. Rencanakan persiapanmu dengan baik.”)
Lisha nodded. “Okay, Mom. I will.”
(Lisha mengangguk. “Baik, Bu. Aku akan melakukannya.”)
On Friday evening, Lisha finally started preparing her hiking gear in her bedroom.
Her mother came in and asked, “Are you packing your things now?”
(Ibunya masuk dan bertanya, “Kamu sedang menyiapkan barang-barangmu?”)
“Yes, Mom,” Lisha replied.
(“Iya, Bu,” jawab Lisha.)
Her mother said gently, “Pack your clothes neatly, bring enough food, and take warm clothes with you.”
Lisha put her jacket into the bag and asked, “Is this enough, Mom?”
Her mother smiled. “Yes, but don’t forget your flashlight and first aid kit.”
(Ibunya tersenyum. “Iya, tapi jangan lupa senter dan kotak P3K.”)
“Alright,” Lisha said. “I will also bring enough water.”
(“Baik,” kata Lisha. “Aku juga akan membawa air yang cukup.”)
Before leaving the room, her mother reminded her, “Get enough rest and wake up early tomorrow, and don’t forget to pray on the mountain.”
“Yes, Mom. Thank you,” Lisha replied.
(“Siap, Bu. Terima kasih,” jawab Lisha.)
Lisha zipped her bag, looked at it, and smiled.
(Lisha menutup tasnya, menatapnya, lalu tersenyum.)
“Everything is ready,” she thought. “Be ready for the weekend hike.”
(“Semuanya sudah siap,” pikirnya. “Bersiaplah untuk pendakian akhir pekan.”)
